hello, hello
i'm still drawing but there are two major changes:
1. i went back to fanart
2. i gave up digital
so my art does not look the same anymore, and i've sure been gone from wff for a long, long time. a lot of stuff has changed.
i had a lot of fun with wff and i miss the interactions with the people and building my own horse character, etc, and i think i could easily slip back into it, but i'm afraid that i've been gone too long. it's likely nobody remembers me or Constellation at this point, and not only that but i'm sure a lot of the people i knew back then have left dA and been replaced by a new generation who does things differently, and if i come back things won't be the same.
the fanart niche i'm in right now is yugioh, and there are multiple characters in multiple seasons of that anime who ride horses, and i have already made horse characters for some of my fancomics. it would be really easy for me to slip back into the horse art community under the same setting i had before, where i created the horse but not the rider. with wff the rider is a real person. in the new setting, the rider would be an anime character that isn't mine. this worked fine for wff because the horse is what people were interested in, and i expect the same thing as before, with people who liked Constellation but had no idea who Yuichi was. so those people aren't gonna be interested in my fanart account with all those characters they don't know or care about. the best thing to do is make a whole new account dedicated to the horse art thing like wff was, and if you also like the characters then you can also watch the regular fanart account, and if you already liked the characters and already liked the fanart account but you also like horses then you can check out the horse account
but making a new account is a lot of work and dedication, and i'm afraid of starting it and then finding everything different from how it was before, or maybe it's not even around at all these days and nobody does it anymore at all, etc etc
so i'm wondering if anyone is still watching this account, still remembers it, would like me to come back or would be able to tell me how things are going nowadays, if the horse art rpg community is still a thing or not really the same anymore or not around at all anymore, etc etc
if there is anybody around who remembers me or wff or Constellation, then would any of those people still be interested if i did a new horse in a new art style?
if i make up my mind to come back, then that will be my decision and not have anything to do with whether or not anyone replied to this journal. but if someone does reply, and i decide on my own to come back, whoever replies here will get linked to my new account if they are interested. of course it would be more fun to come back if i had some people from this account to wanted me back. if not, then i just have to consider what i personally really want to do and if i want to start all over again with new people. i'm mostly curious here about "if i come back, will i be starting over brand new, or will there be people who remember me from before and want me to come back?"

A Sad Farewell

Thank you EVERYBODY for all the support, thank you SO MUCH.
Also thank you a million times for all the Happy Birthdays to Constellation on the other journal. ♥
After prolonged hard thought, I've decided not to continue this account. But I did have lots of fun trying something new and was very happy with the results and just thank you very much everybody thank you.
My ONLY regret is losing contact with everyone and no longer being around to leave everybody feedback and comments and support and so on in return. I am trying to figure out a way to do this. Some people were genuinely interested in my horse art and original characters and will probably be disappointed that I've migrated back to fanart. It will no longer be a case for "If you comment me I'll comment you back" because I'm going to a completely new subject that people here may not necessarily be interested in and I fully understand that. I think falling out of touch may be inevitable.
The fanart community is a whole other side of dA. Some things were similar, groups have nitpicky content rules and popular artists are popular, but some things were also quite different. I found this side of dA to be generally unique and awesome and a breath of fresh air but there are also things about the fanart part of dA that I miss. But I don't think I have the stamina and energy to stay a productive member of both communities. I would like to, and have considered making a new horsey account, but I really can't guarantee it'll happen. I don't doubt people would be interested in it and such, it's that I personally don't feel very motivated and passionate about it.
I miss advertising for community shows and featuring people and generally focusing on others instead of only myself and my art and how many comments and favs I get and so on. I don't feel those efforts will be useful though if I'm no longer uploading anything and there's no traffic through my account. There will probably be new watchers and new commenters but I will miss those who were watching and commenting first and it saddens me to leave you all behind. ;A; -gathers everyone-
The new account is dcKingdomHearts. There isn't a horse in sight except I did write a story once that had Pegasus in it, and is funny because I expect most fanart readers will not really care much about the horse, but most horse fans will not really care much about the fanart. I do have a crackfic involving centaurs. But in general it's just a bunch of boy x boy snugglefluff and it's COMPLETELY OKAY if you don't want to Watch the new account. I've been inactive for several months, it's alright if you just slink away and forget about me. NO REALLY. IT IS. I've Watched artists before who changed subjects and I just wasn't interested anymore and eventually just casually took them off my Watch list, or out of guilt left them added but unchecked the box for Deviations. I totally understand and it's okay. Go slink. I won't be mad or offended or insulted.
I wish everyone the best of luck with their horsey art endeavors. I will always remember the good times here. I'm not going to delete anything, I just won't be signing in anymore.

Constellation's 1-Year Birthday

The birth dates of all my original characters is considered to be the day they become part of the tangible world and not just an idea in my head, which is either the very first picture drawn of them, their first RP post, or the first story written about them (whatever comes first).
Constellation's first concept art was drawn on January 7, 2014. She is today one year old as a fictional character. There's snow on the ground today as there was when she was born, which is why there was snow in the background of her first pictures.
My 2014 New Year's Resolution was to have more positive memories and less regrets, do stuff I'd always wanted to do but never did, etc. I'd seen people drawing horses and adoptables and art pets and stuff but never actually participated. 2014, I decided to do it. I saw a show hosted by Elantair and asked her about how it worked, etc, and made WhiteFoxFarm on January 12, 2014. I planned things out in advance before starting the account, beginning with the creation of Constellation a week before the account opened.
2014 was mostly a trial experiment with art-based pet games and it worked out better than I'd expected and I had a lot of fun with it and made some lovely friends. Right now I've put everything on hold as I'm much too busy, but because of the support Constellation has received, I'm considering bringing her back some time in the future when my other projects level off, this time with more serous focus on her story and characterization. It will take a lot of refiguring and redesigning but it seems like it would be worthwhile.
Thank you everybody for enjoying my art of this little black mare, and especially thanks to Elantair for introducing me to the community and getting me started here on dA, as well as for still being a friend to this day. Also thank you very much to everybody else who loved Constellation and her friends enough to still be drawing them even now, and especially thank you to those who are Watching my other accounts even after I left the horse art community. Since I have a lot of trouble with math, I'm really worried about making mistakes while counting these up! I hope nobody gets accidentally cheated! I checked over each part of each picture several times. I used this system because I believe every single thing an artist draws should be noticed: If you took time to draw it, it should count toward your score! Thank you very much EVERYBODY for entering and participating! This was a very complex event and there was a lot of text and rules, so thank you very much for being patient and reading everything! It is a shame no one entered Division 2 and 4; it would have been an easy First Place for people who couldn't win against their class. I've learned quite a bit from hosting this event and have ideas in mind for how to make future events a lot smoother and more efficient. My next event will have different classes, divisions, and categories. I should have made a separate set of ribbons for first place/etc in classes vs divisions, among other things.

Thank you very much EVERYBODY for entering and participating! This was a very complex event and there was a lot of text and rules, so thank you very much for being patient and reading everything! It is a shame no one entered Division 2 and 4; it would have been an easy First Place for people who couldn't win against their class. I've learned quite a bit from hosting this event and have ideas in mind for how to make future events a lot smoother and more efficient. My next event will have different classes, divisions, and categories. I should have made a separate set of ribbons for first place/etc in classes vs divisions, among other things.

Since I have a lot of trouble with math, I'm really worried about making mistakes while counting these up! I hope nobody gets accidentally cheated! I checked over each part of each picture several times. I used this system because I believe every single thing an artist draws should be noticed: If you took time to draw it, it should count toward your score! Judging contest entries should require as much effort on the judge's part as the artists themselves put into their own pictures. I really took time to study this and appreciate all the work everybody put into doing this for mine & Yuichi's birthdays. Thank you so much! In my opinion, you all win. ♥

Thank you EVERYBODY for participating in my little event which celebrates Yuichi Nakamura's birthday (October 8, 1987) and mine (October 16, 1987) with a horse-show-themed art contest. All the entries are wonderful and adorable, thanks so much! Since I'll be retiring from the game, this will be the last WFF event of this type. However, I'd like to have other contests later, hopefully with less text-walls and simpler rules. I think this one was a little overwhelming and complex!

A unicorn with the same color scheme as Yuichi's white fox. I wanted to do different types of "quests" for my group where you would draw your horse accomplishing a set of tasks, usually with the general concept of going somewhere or carrying out some little adventure. This simple quest was added to my event as a way to test everything out and see how smoothly it worked, but nobody entered, so I'm presuming it's too much to draw and the prize isn't worth the effort. I wanted to make a Points
-free game that is based only on art, not money, and generally intended for people who just draw for fun to develop their characters and art skills, etc, where the highest level players would be those who tried the hardest and put in the most time and effort, not those who had the most money or the most talent. It doesn't seem like other people accepted the idea very well, so since this clearly was quite a special horse and was meant to be a rare limited edition one-chance-only prize, I'm reclaiming it. ♥VOTE FOR PEOPLE'S CHOICE!

I didn't advertise this publicly or try to draw a lot of attention to it because it was mainly intended for the people who care the most about me and Yuichi and WhiteFoxFarm. There's no Points
